We know that we can sell things like eBooks, paperbacks, and hardcovers on Amazon KDP. Now, let's check out how to Publish Coloring book on Amazon KDP.
A coloring book is considered a low-content book, and it should be published as a paperback on Amazon KDP.
Low Content Book - Paperback
Low-content books are those that don't have a lot of text in them. Examples include coloring books, notebooks, activity books, puzzles, mind games, monthly planners, etc.
These types of books fall under the category of low-content books.
The paperback is a hard copy of the book we created, which will be printed and sold by Amazon after we publish it.
An eBook is when you buy a book and read it online. It’s available as a soft copy for customers.
We are now going to publish coloring book in paperback on Amazon.
First, you need to create the coloring book using the Canva app and save it in PDF format. You can also design the book cover with the Canva app.
Only after that can we publish coloring book on the Amazon KDP platform.
We have already created our Amazon KDP account and updated all the details on the Amazon KDP site.
Now, when we go to the Amazon KDP site, we will see the Amazon KDP homepage.
After publishing our books, all the books we published will be listed on this homepage.

- First, go to the Amazon KDP site and sign in to your account.
- You can now find the "Create" option on the Amazon KDP homepage.

- This allows us to publish our eBook, Paperback, Hardcover, and Series pages, so we can sell them on Amazon.
- After clicking the Create option, you will see four choices: eBook, Paperback, Hard cover, and Series page. Click on the paperback option.

- There will be three sections: paperback details, paperback content, and paperback rights & pricing. We need to fill out each section.

- Please provide the language as English. Next, you need to give the Title and Subtitle of your coloring book.

- Then enter your publication name or your name in the Author option.
- In the Description option, write a brief description about your coloring book.
- Select "I own the copyright" in the publishing rights option.

- Next, you need to identify your primary audience. Answer "No" to the question about whether there are sexually explicit images or titles.
- After that, you can provide the reading age (optional). Since this is a coloring book, you can specify an age range from 3 to 12 years.
- Next, the primary marketplace will be amazon.com. Then, you need to provide the categories for your book. You can list up to 3 categories here.
- Click on the "Add Category" option here, and then select the categories: Books > children's books > activities, crafts & games > activity books > coloring books. We can add two more categories if needed.

- By including these keywords in the keyword option, our book will show up when they search for it.
- This keywords section is optional, and you can include up to 7 keywords.
- First, select the option that says, "publication date and release date are the same."
- Next, choose the option "Release my book for sale now" under the Release date section.
- The Amazon team will take 72 hours to approve our book, and after that, it'll be published on the Amazon site.
- If you click on save and continue now, you'll move on to the next section called Paperback content.

- In this section, there will be an option called "ISBN." If you click on the button that says "Assign ISBN," it will create an ISBN ID for your book.
- The ISBN is a unique identifier that helps to identify your book.
- Next, choose "Black and white interior with white paper" in the print options.
- First, you need to choose the size of the pages for your book.
- Then, select the bleed option in the bleed settings. For the paperback cover finish, pick either matte or glossy.
- Next in the Manuscript Option, you need to upload your book, which is in PDF format.
- Next, click on the "Upload a cover you already have" option in the book cover section, and then upload the book cover you designed.
- If AI-generated content was used, you should respond with Yes; if not, then respond with No.

- Next, there will be an option to preview the book. If you click on approve in that preview section, a summary of the printing costs for our book will appear.
- Now, if you click on save and continue, next, it will take us to the paperback rights and pricing section.

- In this section, select "All Territories" under Territories. The primary marketplace will be Amazon.com.
- Next, we need to set the price of our book under the "pricing, royalties, and distribution" option.
- The Amazon platform will take a specific percentage, and they will also take the cost for printing the book from us.
- You, who published the book, will get only the remaining amount. The sale amount of each book and the amount we earn through the book will be displayed here.
- Next, the Terms and Conditions section states that your book will be available on Amazon within 72 hours.
That's it! Just click the "Publish your paperback book" button to publish it. After publishing, our book will be in the "In Review" status. This will be displayed on the Amazon KDP homepage.
